If you receive the message “Too many requests in 1 hour” from ChatGPT, this is no cause for exuberant joy. ChatGPT is on everyone’s lips at the moment and therefore almost everyone is interested in communicating with the chatbot. An abrupt termination because of supposedly too many requests is then naturally very inconvenient.
ChatGPT: “Too many requests in 1 hour” – you should know this
Everyone is talking about ChatGPT at the moment. All the more annoying when the conversation suddenly ends abruptly with the message “Too many requests in 1 hour”.
- If you see the message “Too many requests in 1 hour, try again later” on the screen, this can have various causes – it is not always your fault. One cause may simply be that too many users are accessing the programme at the same time.
- If you want to check whether the chatbot is currently overloaded, you can check the current status of ChatGPT. A dark green bar indicates that the chatbot is working without restrictions. If, on the other hand, you see a light green, orange or even red bar, ChatGPT is not fully functional at the moment and the problem is not yours. In this case, you probably have no choice but to be patient.
- You may have sent too many requests in a row too quickly, or your questions may have been too complex. In that case, you should take it a little easier. The number of possible questions is supposed to be limited due to the currently very high interest, but it is not known how high the limit is set.
- Using other browsers or devices will usually not help in the case that you have actually sent too many prompts – the message is linked to the account.
