The latest software version for the Apple Watch is watchOS 8, which is compatible with both iOS 14 and iOS 15.
- Before you start the actual update, you should prepare the Apple Watch properly. Make sure the Watch is still at least 50 per cent charged. Also, connect the Apple Watch to its charger and leave it connected until the update is complete.
- Make sure the iPhone that the Apple Watch is connected to has an active Wi-Fi connection.
- Place the iPhone directly next to the Apple Watch to have the best possible connection.
- On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Here, open “My Watch” ☻ “General” ☻ “Software Update”.
- Enter the correct codes if necessary, if you use them to protect your devices.
- After that, all you have to do is wait until the update is complete and the Apple Watch has restarted.

- You still need your iPhone in the immediate vicinity. First make sure that the iPhone is connected to the watch and a WLAN network.
- For the update, the watch must be at least 50% charged and connected to the charger. This is the only way to ensure that the update is loaded correctly.
- In order to update the software, you must first navigate to the settings on your watch. There you will find the tab “Software update” under the menu item “General”. The watch will now automatically search for available updates.
- If you have the option of an update, press “Install update now” and follow the instructions on the clock. After successful installation, the clock will restart itself automatically.
