Amazon has launched a new service to help you get your order even faster: Same Day Delivery. What it is exactly and how you can use the new service, you can read in this article.
Amazon Same Day Delivery – what’s behind it
- With the Same Day Delivery service, Amazon promises to deliver an order on the same day.
- The prerequisite is that you order in the morning. The exact time of delivery then depends on the respective item and the delivery address. However, according to Amazon, delivery always takes place between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
- The offer is free for Prime customers, but is only offered for orders over 20 euros.
- An Amazon Prime membership currently costs you 8.99 euros per month and offers premium shipping as well as other benefits such as Amazon Instant Video and Amazon Music.
- The service was initially launched in 14 German cities. In the meantime, the area has multiplied. You can find out if you live in one of the areas when the “Same Day Delivery” option is offered during the ordering process after you have entered your postcode.
Same Day Delivery: How it works
Same Day Delivery is automatically displayed if the shipping location is in one of the qualifying areas.
- Sign in with your Amazon account as usual and search for an item.
- If your default shipping address is covered by Same Day Delivery, you can filter the search results accordingly on the left side under “Shipping Option”.
- If you click on an item, the note “Prime Same-Day” will indicate that the item is available for delivery on the same day. If no indication appears here, you can only order the item normally, as not every item qualifies for Same Day Delivery.
- Finish by adding the item to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. Then select “Prime Same Day” as your shipping option.
