Amazon Fresh: The costs at a glance

The costs for Amazon Fresh are fairly reasonable, but of course Amazon does not deliver the food to your door for free. On the other hand, the Amazon Fresh service is quite fast and the selection of groceries is quite adequate.

Amazon Fresh and the costs

Convenience has its price, and Amazon Fresh is no exception. But it’s great: no more slogging through the supermarket, no more queuing for hours at the checkout and no more lugging home those heavy shopping bags.

• With Amazon Fresh, you can order your groceries casually from your sofa and they will be delivered just a short time later. In addition to the standard items, Amazon Fresh also offers fresh food such as fruit and vegetables.
  However, you cannot book Amazon Fresh separately. You can only enjoy food deliveries from Amazon if you are a Prime member. The Amazon Prime membership costs you 69 euros per year.
• The minimum order value for Amazon Fresh is 20 euros. In addition, there is then a delivery fee of around four euros. However, this fee is waived for an order value of 80 euros or more.
• The groceries are delivered every day except Sundays. If you have placed your order with Amazon Fresh by noon, you will usually receive the groceries on the same day.

What else to look out for on Amazon Fresh

The delivery area of Amazon Fresh is still quite limited. In fact, so far only Amazon Prime members in the major cities of Berlin, Potsdam, Hamburg and Munich can enjoy Amazon Fresh’s food delivery service.

• You can order from Amazon Fresh from Monday to Saturday. Amazon Fresh does not deliver groceries on Sundays. The same applies to public holidays.
• Generally, grocery orders are delivered the same day or the following day. Depending on the postcode, Amazon Fresh grocery deliveries take as little as two hours. However, in rare cases, orders may take a little longer to arrive. However, these are usually special items.
• Each Amazon Fresh order is limited to 75 different items, with the emphasis on different. If you want to order more than 75 different items, you will need to place another order.
• If you have forgotten an item in your order, you can quickly add it. The emphasis in this case is on nimble, because as soon as the Amazon employees start processing your order, it is too late to make additions.
