Amazon does not have a traditional customer number. Instead, you identify yourself with your account data when making complaints or support requests.
Amazon: Identification takes place without a customer number
You have a personal customer number for almost every online shop. Amazon is different. You don’t have a customer number there, but you usually identify yourself via your user account.
- When you log in to your Amazon account, you do not enter a customer number, but rather the email address or cell phone number that you used to register.
- Even when contacting support, for example with complaints, exchanges or other issues, you usually do not need a customer number.
- Since you contact support after logging in from your Amazon account, you do not need to further confirm your identity. However, you may need to have the order number ready if you cannot select the order in question directly when making your request.
Find order number on Amazon
Every order on Amazon is assigned a unique order number. You can find this in your order overview.
- Open the Amazon website in your browser and log in with your account details.
- Click in the top right corner and move the cursor over Account and Lists and then select My Orders.
- Find the desired product in the list of purchases you have made. You will find the order number to the right of the product.
