Amazon: Find out your customer number – here’s how

by Tobias

Most retailers require your customer number for complaints, exchanges or support requests. In this article we explain how it is with Amazon and where you can find your customer number.

Amazon: Find out your own customer number

At almost every online shop you have a personal customer number. With Amazon, however, it’s a little different. Here you don’t have a classic customer number, but identify yourself by your email address, for example. However, there is a unique URL combination for your account. You can use this to find other Amazon users and read their reviews.

  • Open the Amazon website and sign in with your account details.
  • Click Account and Lists in the top right-hand corner and then click Profile in the “Ordering and shopping settings” section.
  • Your individual number can now be found at the end of the URL after “account.”. It consists of several numbers and letters.
  • Example: If your Amazon URL reads “https://www.amazon.de/gp/profile/amzn1.account.AEP5IZTCO5BM47HNZP2QSEXYFIUB.” when you view your public profile, your number is “AEP5IZTCO5BM47HNZP2QSEXYFIUB”.

Alternatively: Find order number on Amazon

In addition to the customer number mentioned above, there are also so-called order numbers at Amazon. You need these for support requests and complaints, among other things. You can find them in your order overview.

  • Open the Amazon website in your browser and log in with your account details.
  • Click on the Account and Lists entry at the top right.
  • Follow this by selecting the My Orders entry. A list will open with all your purchases from Amazon.
  • Find the product you want there and you will find the order number to the right of the corresponding entry.
