If your Whirlpool washing machine shows an error message, in some cases you can fix the problem yourself. You don’t always have to call in an expensive professional.
These error messages are relatively common with Whirlpool washing machines
If your Whirlpool washing machine shows an error code and refuses to work, it is very annoying. However, this code also gives you a chance to identify the cause of the malfunction and fix it.
- If your Whirlpool washing machine shows the code E1, FH or FA, it means that your machine can no longer draw water. Check the faucet and make sure it is open. Also, make sure that the inlet hose does not have any kinks or damage. Replace the hose if necessary.
- Even if the water drainage is not guaranteed, your machine cannot wash. This problem is indicated by error codes FP, F21, F3 and F4. In most cases, the filter is simply clogged. This is located in front of the drain pump. Clean the filter and also check the drain hose for kinks and damage.
- The error messages F6 or F06 indicate that the drum cannot rotate properly. Check to see if a piece of clothing or other foreign object may have become lodged between the housing and the drum and remove it. A drum that is too fully loaded can also lead to this error message. In this case, remove a part of the loaded laundry. If neither of these helps, there is a defect in the circuit board. In this case you will need the help of a technician.
You can also remedy these error messages from your Whirlpool washing machine yourself
In addition to the common Whirlpool washing machine error messages mentioned above, there are other malfunctions that you can easily fix yourself. For this, you just need to know which code indicates which problem.
- The codes F22 and F13 indicate that there is a problem with the door lock. Therefore, first check that the door is properly locked and latched. Also, make sure that the machine is not too fully loaded. If the error code continues to appear, thoroughly clean the door lock of soap residue, lint and dust.
- Fault codes E2 and F05 are a problem with the temperature sensor. Again, this does not necessarily require a specialist. Often it is enough to switch off the machine and disconnect it from the mains for half an hour. Then plug the machine back in and restart it.
- It is also very easy to fix the error code F18 yourself, because it simply means that too much foam has formed in the machine. The cause of this is too much detergent. Simply let the machine run through a complete wash cycle once without adding detergent and without washing. After that, the problem should be solved.
