Cleaning the induction field: tips and tricks

by Flo

To keep an induction cooking field well maintained, you should clean it regularly. Aggressive aids are out of place here.

This is how you clean the glass ceramic plate of your induction cooking field

To keep your induction hob in good condition, you should clean it briefly after each cooking session. Since the surface is made of glass ceramic, dirt can easily become ingrained if it is not removed immediately. This is how you clean your induction cooker properly:

  • Wait until the hob has cooled down after cooking.

  • Use a damp microfiber cloth or a soft sponge to remove light dirt.

  • Washing-up liquid or special glass ceramic cleaners help to dissolve grease and dirt. You can remove stubborn dirt with a scraper for glass ceramics. However, be careful not to scratch the surface.

  • Remove any cleaning agent residue to avoid unsightly streaks and wipe with clean water.

  • Finally, polish the glass ceramic hob with a dry cloth to make it shine again.

How to clean the stainless steel frame on an induction hob properly

Many induction hobs are framed by a stainless steel frame. You should also clean this regularly and properly.

  • If anything splatters during cooking, take a dishcloth and a little washing-up liquid to hand. Moisten the cloth and drip washing-up liquid on to it. Then wipe the stainless steel frame.

  • Wipe with a dry cloth.

  • Caution: scrapers should only be used on the hob, but never at the edge, as they can leave unsightly scratches on the stainless steel.
