There are different answers to the question of where I can find the recycle bin on my cell phone. Whether you are using Android or iOS plays a role here
Where can I find the recycle bin on Andorid on my mobile phone
If you have accidentally deleted videos or photos on your Android smartphone, you can restore them using the recycle bin. How you access the recycle bin may vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- Open the Gallery app to do this
- Tap on the three dashes in the bottom right-hand corner to open the menu and select “Trash”.
- If you do not have such a menu, open the albums in the Gallery app. Here you should find a folder with the name “Trash” or “Deleted files”.
- All deleted pictures and videos from the last 30 days are displayed in the recycle bin. If you select an image, you can move it to the gallery by tapping on “Restore”.
- If you cannot find any important files there, you can empty the recycle bin. This can be useful, for example, if the memory of your Android phone is full.
- There is no recycle bin for other files outside the gallery app. External software is required here to recover deleted files.
Finding the recycle bin – this is how it works on iOS
The recycle bin is also only available for photos and videos on the iPhone. Call it up as follows:
- Open the Photos app
- Tap on the “Albums” tab and select the “Recently deleted” album.
- The deleted files from the last 30 days are displayed. You can restore these using the corresponding button. Alternatively, you can also empty the recycle bin.
- If you do not want to restore pictures or videos, but other iPhone files, you can restore these via an iCloud backup.
