The Nintendo Switch is not charging and is threatening to go out or has already stopped turning on. If the problem occurs, there is not necessarily a defect. We will show you the simple steps that will ensure that the Switch charges again.
First aid: Battery of the Nintendo Switch does not charge
Put the Nintendo Switch in the dock or plug it into the charging cable, but it won’t charge, you should try the following:
- First check all connections. See if the USB-C cable is damaged, if the Switch is properly placed in the docking station and also if the power outlet is working. Try whether the console charges when you plug it directly into a wall socket without a distributor.
- Test whether the Switch charges on the charging cable outside the docking station.
- Even if no damage can be seen on the cable, test a replacement cable for the Switch if possible.
- The switch may be deeply discharged. Even if no battery symbol lights up, leave the Switch connected to the charging cable for 20 minutes and then try to switch it on again.
- If nothing happens, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to perform a soft reset.
