Each Nintendo 3DS has an individual serial number that you need, for example, for customer support. It is located directly on the device
Nintendo 3DS: How to find out the serial number
You cannot read out the numerical code via the 3DS system. You have to check the serial number label on the device.
- You will find your individual serial number on the back of your Nintendo 3DS or 2DS. This is the 11-digit code under the individual security symbols.
- The length of the code is always the same, regardless of whether it is a European or Japanese version, for example. There are also no differences regarding the position on the console, which makes it easy to quickly check the serial number
- Note: The 2DS XL is an exception. The serial number sticker is located underneath the cover of the card slot for the game cartridges. You only need to open it to check the number
Nintendo 3DS: Find out the serial number without a sticker
The serial number label on your 3DS or 2DS can wear off after prolonged use. If the number is no longer recognizable, you can find the number underneath the battery.
- Turn the device over to do this. Use a suitable screwdriver to remove the screws on the back of the device
- Then carefully lift off the housing with a screwdriver. Then remove the battery.
- Underneath the battery you will find another sticker with the serial number and other device information. It is best to write the number down.
