The Fire TV Blaster allows you to use voice commands to control the volume of your TV, for example, without a remote control.
Fire TV Blaster: What you should know about it
Turn on your TV without using a remote control – the Fire TV Blaster makes it possible.
- The Fire TV Blaster allows you to control the power and volume of your soundbar, TV or AV receiver.
- Saves you the hassle of multiple remote controls by combining everything into one unit.
- What is not integrated, however, is the channel change. This still has to be done with a normal remote control.
- In order to use the Fire TV Blaster without restrictions, you need a Fire TV Stick 4k or a third-generation Fire TV, an Echo device, and the Alexa app so that the Echo and Fire TV Stick can be connected.
- If your TV is not controllable via an infrared remote, unfortunately you cannot use the Fire TV blaster.
- The Fire TV Blaster is especially worthwhile if you already own the necessary devices and do not need to purchase them separately.
- The unit should be aligned so that a connection can be made to the TV. The distance must be approximately between 30 and 60 centimetres, which could be difficult in small flats.
Alternatives to the Fire TV Blaster
There are several alternatives to the Fire TV Blaster.
- For example, the BroadLink RM4 Mini, which is compatible with Alexa, but also with Google Assistant. There is also the “BroadLink” app for control.
- The Auvisio infrared remote control is relatively inexpensive in comparison. A big advantage is that you can even change channels with it.
- Another alternative is the eMylo Smart IR remote control, which can even be used for other devices such as the air conditioner or even your lights. It is also equipped with 360-degree infrared control, which gives you a lot of flexibility.
