Writing a tick symbol in Word
The tick symbol is a character of the font “Windings 2”.
- Type “P” in the desired location in Word and use the keyboard to highlight the letter.
- Then change the font to “Windings 2”.
- Now you can deselect it with one click and set the usual font again.
Create a key combination in Word
You can also set up a keyboard shortcut to insert the check mark more quickly in the future.
- Click on “Symbols” in the “Insert” menu, then on “More symbols” and select the tick from the list.
- Click “Key combination” and type in the “New key combination” field your desired combination on the keyboard by executing it.
- Make sure that the combination is not already taken. You can tell by the text that appears, “Currently assigned to: [unassigned]”.
- Confirm with “Assign” and close both windows.
