Choose the method that best suits your needs. The built-in Windows tools are quick and easy to use, while specialized software can provide more detailed results.
- CrystalDiskMark is a popular tool for Windows 10 and 11. The program measures sequential and random read/write speeds. It’s easy to use – just select your drive and click “Start.”
- EaseUS Partition Master offers a DiskMark function to test hard disk speed. It supports internal and external drives, including SSDs and USB sticks.
- Other tools are also available. For example, use PassMark PerformanceTest. It compares performance with similar computers worldwide. ATTO Disk Benchmark is used by drive manufacturers for development and testing.
- AS SSD Benchmark was developed specifically for SSDs and uses incompressible data. HD Tune offers additional features such as error detection and health status checks.
