The Epson EcoTank printer is a multi-purpose printer that does not use conventional ink cartridges but refillable tanks. Here you put bottle ink into a corresponding device and thus refill the ink tank.
- Even though the Epson EcoTank does not use normal printer cartridges but special ink tanks, the device uses print nozzles. The nozzles precisely apply the ink to the right spot on the paper.
- But: If the printer is rarely used, ink residue can dry up. Although it is not the ink cartridges that dry out, the internal components – especially the nozzles – do.
- So if the ink dries up in the Epson EcoTank printer, the print nozzles can become clogged. To clear this, use a cleaning hose to gain direct access to the nozzles. Then, using a syringe, flush cleaning fluid through the hose, which clears the print nozzles.

- Select a suitable location for your EcoTank printer. This should be as cool as possible. For example, avoid direct sunlight or the direct heat of other electrical devices. Heat can cause the ink to dry out in the print nozzles.
- If you only print a little, it is advisable to make regular test prints to prevent the ink from drying out in the first place. In addition, the ink should be refilled regularly. This will flush the nozzles with fresh ink.
- It is also important that you switch off the printer properly. Only then will the print head move into the so-called protective position, which also prevents it from drying out. To do this, you should switch off the printer using the off button and finally disconnect the machine from the power supply.
