When you buy a new smartphone, the question quickly arises as to what to do with the old phone. If you don’t want to give your old device to friends or sell it, you need to make sure you dispose of it properly. Because cell phones do not belong in household waste.
- Local electrical stores accept used smartphones and take care of the correct disposal. Simply ask at your local electronics store
- Your mobile phone provider will also take back your old phone – it is best to hand it in at the store or send it in.
- Recycling centers also accept electronic waste. Have a look around your area to find out where you can dispose of old appliances.
- If you want to make a little extra money with your old smartphone, you can sell it second-hand. Depending on how recent the device is, you can get money back on classified ad portals or electronic purchase websites.
- Remember to delete all personal data from the phone and remove the SIM card before you hand it in.
