If your Brother printer prints uncleanly or in streaks, you should clean the print head. It only takes a few simple steps to clean the print head.
Clean the Brother print head – this is how you proceed
The cleaning of the print head can usually be done automatically with Brother devices. For proper print quality, you should clean it regularly, but especially if you get unclean printouts.
- Turn on the printer and make sure all ink cartridges are firmly seated.
- Then press the “Menu” button on the printer and scroll to “Ink” using the arrow keys. Confirm with “OK”.
- Before you start cleaning, you should carry out a test print. Select the item “Test print” with the arrow keys and confirm twice with “Ok”. Press the “Start” key to start the test print.
- If a colour is not displayed correctly, you can perform a print head cleaning for that colour by negating it.
- This causes pressure to be pumped through the nozzles and line, which can sometimes use up a lot of ink. Therefore, you should perform print head cleaning only for the colour that is displayed incorrectly or not at all.
- You may need to perform cleaning several times. After each cleaning, you will receive a new printout that you can use to check the quality.
