The resolution of a projector depends primarily on its intended use. For your home cinema, you need a different quality than for simple presentations. To find out what resolution you really need for a projector, see below.
Beamer: This is the resolution you really need
There are a few things to consider when buying a projector, especially if you want to set up your own home cinema. The resolution of the projector is one of the most important criteria when choosing.
- Few things are more ridiculous than a huge screen in front of which everyone sits expectantly and then a completely pixelated, blurred image appears. Therefore, when buying a projector for watching television, you should make sure that it is of very good quality and has a correspondingly high resolution.
- For a projector for watching TV, you need at least an HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels for a sharp, high-contrast picture. Of course, there is no upper limit to the resolution of the projector for cinema viewing at home.
- For occasional simple presentations, the demands on the quality of the projector may be much more modest. A resolution of 800 x 600 pixels is usually perfectly adequate here.
- If you often have demanding presentations, you should invest a little more and go for a projector with a resolution of at least 1024 x 768 pixels.
- For CAD presentations and simulations to be displayed reasonably, choose a projector with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels.
