If you want to be successful in the adventure game Terraria, you will need the help of NPCs to support you.
The most important NPCs in Terraria
These characters can help you:
- The guide spawns at the beginning of the game and is the only NPC that does not need an apartment. He has tips for you and tells you all the crafting recipes.
- The merchant appears as soon as you have collected 50 silver coins or more. He sells you basic items such as torches, weapons and crafting materials.
- If you have collected a life crystal and thus have over 100 life points, a nurse will spawn. She can not only heal you for a few coins, but also remove debuffs such as poisoning.
- If you have found an explosive item and a merchant is already staying with you, the explosives expert will appear. He has explosive things like dynamite on offer.
- The arms dealer supplies you with firearms and ammunition. He appears as soon as you have found a firearm or a bullet.
- The Medicine Man can be found in the Jungle biome and can move into your village if you have already defeated the Queen Bee. He has weapons such as the Blowgun.
- You can find the Goblin Tinkerer in the cave levels and free him after you have defeated the Golin Army. This NPC is particularly useful because you can have weapons reforged by him for a fee, thus giving them an additional modification.
Requirements for the NPCs
These requirements must be met if you want to let an NPC move into the village:
- Unless otherwise stated, each NPC needs a suitable, free apartment or a free room to spawn in.
- The apartment must be at least ten blocks wide and four blocks high, have a background (no earth wall), at least one light source, a wooden chair, a wooden door and a wooden table.
- Furthermore, no further NPCs can move in if the apartments are located too close to the expanding biomes “Crimson” or “Infection”.
