With the Steam Cloud, you can access your games and game saves from anywhere. But what can you do if the service doesn’t sync? We tell you the answer in this gaming tip.
What to do if the Steam Cloud doesn’t sync
- First check whether synchronisation is switched on for the respective game. To do this, right-click on the respective game and select “Properties” here. Check whether the check mark is set in the “Steam Cloud” field.
- The Steam servers may also be overloaded at the moment, which is why saving is not possible at the moment. Try again later.
- Make sure you have a constant internet connection. Down- or uploads or other people on the Internet can sometimes drastically reduce the speed.
- You should also check whether Steam is blocked by your firewall or anti-virus software. If you have any doubts, you can switch them off briefly.
- Check if there is an update for Steam. To do this, go to the official page and match the versions.
- As a last resort, you can perform a complete reinstallation. However, please note that your saved games will be lost.
