In “The Sims 4”, you cannot place a pond in the garden via the build mode. But there is another possibility. How you can still get a pond in “The Sims 4”, we will show you in the following.
How to build a pond in “The Sims 4”
In build mode you can find a pool or a fountain and place it in your Sims’ garden. However, there is no option to build a pond. With the help of a cheat, you can still build a garden pond. Here’s how:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + C at the same time to open the cheat console.
- Enter “bb.showhiddenobjects” without quotes and confirm with Enter.
- Open the build mode and enter “debug” into the search field without quotes.
- Select one of the displayed results and you will get an overview of all items available in “The Sims 4” that are hidden in normal build or buy mode.
- Scroll down and look for a pond. You will find it near the fishing signs.
- Select the pond you want and click on it. Then place it in the world as usual. You do not pay any simoleons for this.
Decorate the garden pond for your Sims
To make sure the garden pond doesn’t look so boring, you can design it according to your wishes. To do this, you can simply place various stones and plants around the pond and individualise it in this way. However, since the decorations can only be placed at a distance from the pond, you can use the following cheat:
- Open the cheat console again by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C at the same time.
- Enter “bb.moveobjects” without quotes and confirm with Enter.
- Open the build or buy mode and select the desired plants, stones and other decorative elements. Place them around the pond or even on it, such as small water fountains.
What do you get out of having a pond in your Sims’ garden?
- The pond makes a great visual impact and can serve to beautify the garden. Thanks to the different design options, you can find the right decorations for every Sim.
- Besides its appearance, the pond is also useful, because fish swim in it and frogs also cavort here. With a click on this, your Sims can go fishing as well as look for frogs.
