Become a mermaid in Sims 4: These are the possibilities

There are several ways your Sim can become a mermaid or an aquarius.

• Create a mermaid: If you would like to influence the appearance of your Sim, you should create the mermaid directly in “Create a Sim” mode. To do this, click on “Add a new Sim” and then on “Add an occult Sim”. You can freely determine both your normal Sim and the design of the mermaid. Your Sims can become a mermaid from their teenage years onwards.
• Transform Sim naturally: A natural transformation is possible with the help of “mermaid seaweed”. You can find this in the mermaid grotto or as a reward in the store. You can also fish, dig on the beach or snorkel. As soon as you have the seaweed, your Sim should eat it and go into the water within 24 hours. Tip: With the help of the cheat “bb.ShowHiddenObjects” you can also find the seaweed in purchase mode.
• Transform Sim with Cheats: It is especially easy to transform your Sim into a mermaid with a cheat. Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C and enter “Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_OccultMermaid”.
• Having children with mermaid: If your Sim has offspring with a mermaid or an aquarius, they may also have occult genes. In your teens, you’ll find out exactly what the mermaid looks like.
• Turn back mermaid: This works quite easily with the help of a cheat. To do this, enter “Traits.Remove_Trait trait_OccultMermaid” so that your Sim is transformed back. Alternatively, your Sim can reach for the “mermaid tang” twice and then dive into the water.

Sims 4: Special features of the mermaids

There are some special features that go along with mermaids and mermen:

• From now on, the needs no longer say “hygiene” but “hydration”. Your mermaid needs water to feel comfortable. This is achieved by having your Sim go swimming, but bathing, washing hands or staying out in the rain also helps. Important to know: The mermaid can also survive without water, but is then unhappy.

• The mermaids can sleep in the water or sunbathe there in “The Sims 4”. They can also summon a dolphin and interact with it immediately. It is also possible, for example, to influence the weather (with “Seasons” expansion) or to make a Sim happier (Mermaid’s Kiss) or unhappy (Summon Sea Threat). It is also possible to sing different songs that can influence moods.
• Whatever you want to do: Everything costs your sim hydration. That’s why it’s especially important to replenish it in the water.
