Minthara in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a Drow that you can recruit exclusively with enough Charisma and good planning.
Recruit Minthara in Baldur’s Gate 3: Instructions
You will meet Minthara in Baldur’s Gate 3 during the Goblin and Emerald Grove quest line. Most players will probably side with the Druids in the Grove, but this is not possible if you want to recruit the Dark Elf.
- Minthara is waiting in the goblin camp. That means you have to join the goblins in the Destroyed Village on the way to the Destroyed Sanctuary.
- Let your persuasion skills play here and convince the goblins that you are a friend. Only then will you gain access to the camp. In the camp, find the Drow by talking to the goblins and acting friendly so as not to attract attention.
- When you meet Minthara, you must continue to side with the goblins. Only then will you start the quest Loot the Emerald Grove, which is a prerequisite for recruiting the Drow.
- Beware: During the quest all inhabitants of the Emerald Grove will be killed. This also includes the druid Halsin, whom you can no longer gain as a companion afterwards. It is also possible that some of your companions are not satisfied with your decision and turn away from you.
- Pass the quest, festivities with the goblins and the Drow follow. At this point it is possible to have a little romance with her.
- During the feast you have to convince Minthara once again that you are allied with her. Otherwise the game will be blown. Alternatively, you can intimidate the Drow into recruiting you in Act II.
- After the festivities, you must continue playing until you reach the Shadowlands in Act II. At the Towers of Moonrise you will meet the Drow again.
- You have to rescue Minthara from prison to recruit her for good. To do this, sneak into the tower and gain access to her cell so that her memory isn’t erased as punishment.
- You can rely on charm and cunning during the rescue or simply finish off the guards. The important thing is that Minthara survives. If you have escaped, the Drow is immediately available to you as a companion.
