Swapping Pokémon in Pokémon GO – the requirements
If you have reached level ten in Pokémon GO, swapping is possible in principle.
- In principle, your friendship level determines whether you can swap
- Swapping is only possible with a trainer. You must also be friends with them.
- To do this, you must give your friend your trainer code. Otherwise, they will not be able to add you to their friends list.
- Another requirement for the exchange is that there must be no more than 100 meters between you and your friend.
How the Pokemon exchange works
To swap, tap on your trainer profile in the map view.
- Open your friends list by tapping on “Friends”
- Select the Trainer you want to swap Pokémon with and tap on “Swap”.
- Select a Pokémon you would like to swap and tap “Next”.
- If the selected friend has also selected the Pokémon to swap, tap “Confirm”.
