Persona 6: Release and info

by Pramith

Persona 6 is the latest installment in the popular JRPG series from Atlus. The release is probably not far off.

Persona 6: Insiders speculate about a possible release

In 2016, Persona 5 was the last main installment of the series of the same name to be released. That was almost a decade ago, and it’s not surprising that fans are wondering when Persona 6 will finally be playable.

  • There is still no specific release date for Persona 6 (as of October 2024). The project, likely codenamed XRD768 (after Insider Midori), is still a ways off.
  • There are rumors from another insider named p0wyful regarding the release date. According to this person, Persona 6 will be released in the summer of 2025.
  • According to p0wyful, the official announcement by Atlus is to take place at the Game Awards on December 12, 2024 in Los Angeles. If this information is correct, a trailer or the first graphics and screenshots of the game, along with more information, can probably be expected.
  • It is also supposed to be a global release for all current platforms. This probably means the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, the Nintendo Switch and also the PC.
  • This release schedule would be in line with Atlus’ current release strategy. Persona 3 Reload, for example, was announced in June 2023 and released on February 2, 2024. That’s a period of about eight months.
  • If a release period after the announcement is targeted instead, as with Metaphor: ReFantazio, Persona 6 could not be released until spring 2026. It took about 16 months from the announcement to the release of Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Persona 6: Infos zum Spiel

Information about Persona 6 is still scarce. Nevertheless, there are some rumors about the possible content of the successor to Persona 5.

  • All Persona parts are assigned a specific color that relates to the themes of the game. In Persona 5, for example, the color red represents desire. Persona 6 is said to have the color green, which can stand for hope, rebirth or fortune.
  • Since Persona 3, it could be a game in the series with a female and male protagonist again. That hasn’t happened in a long time.
  • The Social Links are to receive a major update. It should also be possible to customize both characters more individually.
  • Furthermore, support is to continue for about three years after release with additional content and DLCs.
  • Please note: This information has not been confirmed and should therefore be treated with caution. We will keep you updated when official information is available.
