A Nintendo Switch only has a certain memory capacity that can be expanded. If 32 gigabytes are not enough, a microSD card will help you avoid the problem. You can then download additional files to the device.
Nintendo Switch: Expand memory with microSD card
The memory of a Nintendo Switch OLED or Nintendo Switch Lite can be expanded and used with a microSD card.
- Use a microSD, micro SDXC or micro SDHC to expand the memory. The maximum size is 2 TB. The best solution is to use a 512 GB SD card.
- If you like, get a Nintendo microSD card offered by this manufacturer. The cards are available in volumes of 64, 128, 256 and 512 GB.
- The Oled model has an SD card slot underneath the stand. Fold it up and open the cover. Insert the card into the slot. Note that the slot must be marked “microSD”.
- The SD memory card is now displayed in the settings of the device under “Data management”. You can now move the data on the machine to the memory card.
