The dragon’s breath in Minecraft is shot by the end dragon and is the basis for brewing the lingering potion
How to easily obtain dragon breath in Minecraft
When you enter the final dimension through the final portal for the first time, you will inevitably come face to face with the final dragon. It immediately begins to shoot its harmful dragon at the player. Depending on your armor and proximity to the dangerous particles, your breath will inflict damage.
- It is worth collecting dragon breath. To do this, take empty glass bottles with you before entering the end and right-click on the purple particles on the ground or in the air as soon as the dragon starts shooting.
- But be careful! The cloud of dragon breath that lingers for a few seconds is harmful. The closer you stand to the particles, the more hearts are deducted. The duration of contact with the dragon’s breath is also decisive for the damage you take from it
- Although you need a few things to fight the Ender Dragon, e.g. a good sword, a bow and a shield, the player’s inventory should not be too full. However, the bottles of purple extract can be stacked up to 64 per inventory slot
- It is also possible to click directly on the dragon’s snout with an empty glass bottle to obtain the dragon’s breath. This is possible, for example, when the end dragon flutters above the end well and interrupts the fight. However, there is a risk of being thrown into the air by the dragon and receiving fall damage.
How to brew the linger potion with dragon breath in Minecraft
Once you have collected enough dragon breath in Minecraft and defeated the end dragon, you can start brewing. The bottles with the purple content are the basis for the lingering potion and can therefore be used for all other potion cards.
- Lingering potions are potions that (just like the dragon’s breath itself) leave behind a cloud of particles after being broken. Depending on the type of potion, this cloud has an effect on all players standing in the cloud. The closer you are to the center of the particles, the stronger the potion’s effect
- In order to apply the lingering potion to other potion types, you first need the brewing state. The basis for every brew is also a blaze rod, which is converted into blaze powder and placed in the box on the left. The bottle with the collected dragon’s breath is placed in the box at the top during brewing, while the bottles that are to produce lingering potions are placed in the three boxes at the bottom
- Lingering potions are ideal for multiplayer servers to share the desired spell effect (e.g. strength) with your fellow players. This saves you having to brew your own potions for each player. The potion is also worth using in single-player mode, as you get the effect faster than when drinking a bottle of potion in the usual way.
- You also need lingering potions for soaked arrows. The ready-brewed potions with the desired effects are placed in the middle of the inventory of a workbench and ordinary arrows are placed around them. They become arrows that take on the potion’s effect and transfer it to the creature hit by the arrow.
- Unfortunately, the collected dragon breath runs out. However, you can revive the Ender Dragon at any time and start collecting it again.
- By the way: If you have the chance to place the dragon’s breath in an end chest during the battle, it will not be lost if you do not survive the battle against the dragon.
