Find and tame parrots in Minecraft: Procedure
Parrots are one of the animals you can encounter in Minecraft from version 1.12. You can only find the birds in the jungle and its variants.
- They are among the animals with the highest spawn rate there. They always appear in pairs and as adults, as there are no young of them
- Get seeds such as wheat grains or flower seeds to feed to the parrots. They will not eat other foods.
- You have a ten percent chance of taming parrots by feeding them. Once tamed, red hearts will rise from the bird. Now it flies after you permanently
- Note: Parrots spawn in five different colors inspired by real variations of the birds.
Tame parrots in Minecraft: Characteristics of the birds
You can tame several parrots in Minecraft. They fly after you and sit on your shoulders when you stop. You can carry a maximum of two birds at the same time.
- Right-click on your parrots and they will sit down in the same way as other animals. They prefer to cross water surfaces on your shoulders, but can still fly over them
- If the animals are near a record player playing music, they start to wag their heads and dance. The music plays no role in this
- In addition, they imitate the sounds of numerous mobs, including almost all enemies, as long as they are within a radius of 20 blocks of the parrot. This makes the animals an early warning system, especially for enemies such as creepers
- Attention: Never feed your parrots cookies. These will give them an intense poisoning that will lead to death within a few moments. Stick to seed for the colorful birds.
