Crafting a fence in Minecraft
You can use fences to mark off an area. This way, you can keep animals captive, for example.
- To craft fences, you need sticks, which you can make from wood.
- You can craft sticks by placing two wooden planks on top of each other in the crafting menu.
- Place two sticks on top of each other in the middle column as shown in the screenshot.
- Put four wooden plank blocks in the side columns.

Crafting a fence gate in Minecraft
The fence gate allows you to enter a fenced-off area. It replaces the fence at one point.
- To craft the fence gate, you need sticks and wooden planks.
- Place two wooden boards of any type on top of each other in the center column. Two sticks must be placed in the left column and two sticks in the right column.
- Then place the gate between two fences using the right mouse button.
