Craft an anvil in Minecraft to combine, repair and rename items. You will need a lot of iron to craft it

Minecraft: How to craft an anvil

The anvil is primarily used to repair tools in Minecraft. Other possible uses include merging enchantments and changing the names of items.

  • Since anvils only spawn in forge rooms in forest estates, it is much easier to make them yourself. You need 31 iron ingots for this
  • Iron ingots can be obtained either by combining nine lumps of iron or by melting down pig iron or iron ore in the furnace. It is also possible to find them in chests or obtain them from killed iron golems, zombies or zombie villagers.
  • You set aside four of the 31 iron ingots. Use the remaining ingots to make three iron blocks, for each of which you need nine iron ingots.
  • Fill the crafting window of the workbench with nine iron ingots to produce an iron block. You can then use these resources to craft the anvil.
  • Place the three iron blocks in the top row of the crafting window. Place an iron ingot in the middle row and then fill the bottom row with the remaining three iron ingots. The anvil is finished, which you can then place and use in Minecraft
  • Attention: You can use an anvil about 25 times before it breaks. To use it, you must apply a level of experience each time.
