Lies of P: Release in detail
Lies of P is a Soulslike game from developer NEOWIZ that takes the story of Pinocchio and combines it with a dark art style inspired by the Belle Époque.
- It was released on 18 September 2023 for the PC, Xbox One, Series X/S, Mac and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The PS4 and PS5 version was released a day later on 19 September 2023.
- In addition to the standard edition, the game is also available in a deluxe and digital deluxe edition. Pre-orderers could also enjoy the Mischievous Puppet’s Clothes and the Parade Hat.
- The Digital Deluxe Edition features the in-game items The Great Venigni’s Signature Coat, Glasses and the Mask worn by those preparing for the festival. The physical version also features the soundtrack, a steelbook and mini art book.
Lies of P: A Game Overview
In addition to the classic Souls experience, Lies of P offers other features that make up the game:
- In Lies of P you play Pinocchio and have to fight your way through the city of Krat. As in other Soulslikes, you have the option to customise yourself and your weapons to defeat the numerous biomechanical enemies.
- Pinocchio has a mechanical arm that you can equip with upgrades and tools. These include, for example, a grappling hook or flamethrower. You have to use these selectively to get ahead.
- You can craft over 30 different types of weapons, which come with over 100 possible combinations. This makes it possible in Lies of P to completely customise Pinocchio to your own ideas.
- Much like in fairy tales, telling lies affects the story and Pinocchio. There are regular opportunities to speak the truth or to lie, which is important for one of the three achievable endings.
