There are numerous tips and tricks for the inZOI life simulation. Make life-like decisions in a hyper-realistic world, create characters, design cities and control destinies.
Getting started in inZOI: Tips and tricks for character creation & basics
When you first start inZOI, you will be particularly impressed by the variety of graphics and design options. You start by creating your character – the heart of the game. Here are the most important steps:
- Zoi Design: Choose from over 1,000 facial and body options, from skin textures to asymmetrical facial features. Use the photo scan function to import your own appearance or templates. Clothing can be customized for different weather conditions and occasions.
- Personality & Life Goals: Choose from 18 predefined personality types (e.g. “Adventurous” or “Creative”). Set a “Desired Life” (e.g. “Fame” or “Family”) that influences the questline. It’s helpful to start by setting small, achievable goals – such as making new friends or building a stable income. This is a good foundation to build on.
- Select your city and home: At the beginning, you will live in a pre-built city like Bliss Bay or Dowon. Both cities offer different activities and professions. Start with a small house – upgrades will come later. It is not currently possible to move to the other city at a later date.
- Tip: Use other players’ presets (via “Canvas”) if you find the creation process too time-consuming. You can find ready-made characters, outfits and real estate here. It’s worth creating an account to download content from other players.
The first few days: How to keep your Zoi happy
After creating your character, you’ll be transported into the real world – and this is where it gets exciting. You should keep the following in mind:
- Manage basic needs: Your Zoi has eight needs bars (hunger, sleep, hygiene, etc.). If you neglect these, your Zoi will become unhappy. But the household also plays an important role. You should not neglect washing and cleaning.
- Activate autonomy helps: Activate autonomy to enable your Zoi to act independently. The Smart Zoi setting also allows NPCs to take care of their own needs and make their own decisions.
- Earn money & career: Start with side jobs like barista or salesperson. Later on, you can study or pursue a career as a musician, designer, lawyer or athlete. The range of jobs on offer varies from city to city. Important: Instead of buying expensive items straight away, it’s often wiser to invest your earnings sensibly in things that improve your quality of life in the long term, such as furniture or learning resources.
- Build a social life: Talk to NPCs – some react differently depending on their personality. Dates and friendships develop dynamically. Highlight: The AI-controlled NPCs (with Nvidia ACE) make conversations unpredictable. It pays to invest time in conversations and relationships at the beginning. Such connections can bring many benefits later on, such as support with projects or access to exclusive resources.
- Karma system: In inZOI, karma is a central game element that influences both the behavior of individual characters (zois) and the dynamics of the entire city. A zoi’s karma is displayed on a scale of seven, divided into three negative levels (Awful, Poor, Meager), one neutral level (Normal), and three positive levels (Okay, Good, Excellent). The city itself has four aggregated karma levels: Caution (very bad), Warning, Normal and Good (very positive).
- Good karma can, for example, bring a lottery win, while bad karma can even lead to death. Players also need to regularly manage the karma of the entire city to maintain balance. It helps to be kind and helpful at all times to build positive karma. Compliments and thank you messages are easy ways to quickly win favor.
- Planning is everything: It is important to plan the day carefully and avoid overwork, as both can have a negative effect on karma and productivity.
Creative Freedom: Design the City & Photo-Fashion
What makes inZOI special is the ability to shape the entire game world according to your own ideas.
- City editor: Change the weather, animal populations, or the probability of disasters in real time. This way, you can create a post-apocalyptic city with pandas and snowstorms – absurd, but fun
- 3D printing & custom content: Scan real objects (e.g. furniture) from photos and print them out in the game. You can, for example, import your real sofa.
- Photo Mode: Press F3 to take stunning pictures. Adjustable filters, lighting effects and poses allow you to create artistic photos.
