Install Minecraft texture packs - Practical Tips

Install Minecraft texture packs

by Pramith

Texture packs in Minecraft can be installed without additional software via the launcher. Only the pack is necessary

Minecraft: How to install texture and resource packs

If you have downloaded resource packs (formerly texture packs) for Minecraft, for example from Curseforge or Planet Minecraft, install them as follows:

  • Attention: Do not unpack the resource pack before installation, otherwise Minecraft will not be able to use it.
  • Start the Minecraft launcher and go to the options. In the options menu, select the sub-item Resourcepack to access the file management.
  • Click on the Open package folder option. Minecraft will automatically open the corresponding location for resource packs. Copy the desired packs into this folder
  • Close the folder. The resource pack is displayed directly in the pack management.
  • Then move the mouse over the installed pack. Now click on the arrow pointing to the right to activate it.
  • Confirm the process with Done. You can then start the game with the new resource packs.
