Ghost of Tsushima 2: Release and content of Ghost of Yotei

“Ghost of Tsushima 2”, the sequel to the popular action-adventure “Ghost of Tsushima”, is scheduled for release in 2025 – but so far only for one device.

The action-adventure “Ghost of Tsushima” was a huge success. So it’s no wonder that the question of a sequel has been in the air for some time. A release date for “Ghost of Tsushima 2” has now been announced.

• A fantastic world coupled with a decent level of difficulty – this is how Sucker Punch’s “Ghost of Tsushima” conquered the gaming market.

• Fans have been waiting for a sequel for a long time. It’s been official for a few months now: “Ghost of Tsushima 2” is coming.

• Part two will be released under the official title “Ghost of Yotei”. The game is scheduled for release in the course of 2025. However, an exact release date has not yet been set. (As of December 2024)

• What is certain so far is that “Ghost of Tsushima 2” will initially be available exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. The reason: “Ghost of Yōtei” was developed especially for the PS5.

• Whether the second part will also be released for PC at some point is uncertain. But: as experience shows, it is not impossible.

• The first part was also developed by the developers for the PS4. The game was released for PCs in May 2024, a full four years after the release of “Ghost of Tsushima”.

Explore feudal Japan with a new protagonist

Some details of the story of Ghost of Tsushima 2 are already known. The story takes place in 1603, 300 years after the first part.

• In it, players will explore a vast landscape of grassy plains and snow-capped tundra, rather than urban areas as in the first game. Particular focus is placed on the area around Mount Yōtei.

• Mount Yōtei is located in the Ezo area, which is now known as Hokkaido. In 1603, this area was not ruled by Japan.

• One major change is the protagonist. This has been switched due to the huge time leap. Instead of Jin Sakai, you will explore the game world in Ghost of Tsushima 2 with a new female main character.

• According to information on the official PlayStation blog, the new protagonist is called Atsu. The concept remains the same: the second part will once again see a wandering warrior explore the breathtaking landscapes of feudal Japan.

• The game mechanics have also been updated. In addition to the option of using two katanas at the same time, “Ghost of Tsushima 2” will now also feature firearms.
