The quest “In the Mountains” in Genshin Impact is difficult and demanding. But completing this quest is a prerequisite for exploring the huge mountain Dragon’s Ridge and unlocking “Vindagnyr’s Peak ”
How to start the “In the Mountains” adventure in Genshin Impact
In the south-eastern part of Moon City lies the huge mountain Dragon Ridge, also called Vindagnyr. To climb its peak, you must first complete the quest “In the Mountains”. Especially for beginners, this part of the game is a great challenge.
- In order to start the quest, it must first be unlocked. To do this, you need to find Iris, a girl who can be found in a camp in front of the mountain massif. From her you get the quest.
- Now the “strange ice” has to be destroyed. Easier said than done. Because the frosty structure cannot be smashed easily. To do this, you first have to destroy red ores in order to get to the red quartz crystals.
- There are four of these ores in total. If you hit the ice with the quartz crystals in your possession, the first fragment can be thawed. So, in total, you have to strike one blow with each of the four crystals.
Refrost more fragments to get to the top
Ice, snow and cold prevent you from climbing to the summit. That’s why your path first leads you back to Iris.
- After another conversation with Iris you have to find two more fragments that need to be thawed. However, the locations of the fragments are not marked on the map.
- The second fragment is located in a cave. The entrance to this cave is southwest of the “Statue of the Seven” in Dragon’s Ridge. In the cave, you must first accept and solve the challenge to destroy the barrier.
- Now you have to find quartz crystals again to destroy the ice. Again, you need four red ores to succeed.
How to find the third fragment “In the mountains “
The third fragment “In the mountains” in Genshin Impact is a little easier to find than the second one. This is because the ice surface you have to walk over for it is clearly marked to the northwest of the mountain.
- There are ice pillars to the left and right of the ice surface. When you start the jig, you must memorise the ice pillars that the Seelie shows you well. This is because you have to activate the pillars in the same order to complete the task.
- Once you have solved the task, you must defeat three guards. Then an opening will appear in the floor through which you can reach the third fragment. You will find the ore when you guide the Seelien to its place. Then a grate gate will open. Here you now have to thaw a frozen Seelie with a pyro attack.
- Only when all three fragments have been thawed is the way to the top clear. Once there, however, you have to thaw the fragments again. In this case, you can first collect the red quartz crystals and then shoot the fragments with arrows. For these are now on a floating platform. Once this task has been solved, you can activate the entrance to the “Vindagnyr’s Peak” sphere.
