Find Minecraft Desert: Here’s how

by Pramith

To find a desert in Minecraft, you will have to travel a shorter or longer distance, depending on the seed.

Minecraft: How to find a desert

To find a desert in Minecraft, follow our guide:

  • The occurrence of deserts in Minecraft is highly dependent on other biomes. Look out for mesas and savannas to increase your chance of finding deserts. They belong to the cluster of warm biomes.
  • Further, deserts often spawn near Mangrove Jungles and Rocky Shores. If you stay in warm waters, there is also a chance of finding the arid areas.
  • From your current location, it is therefore a good idea to observe the surroundings more closely. Then head in a promising direction to find a desert.
  • If you already have a telescope, use it. You craft a telescope from an amethyst shard and two copper ingots. Place the shard in the middle row at the top and the ingots one space below it.
  • Alternatively, you can help yourself with a map. This makes it easier to track the world you have already explored.
  • Deserts can usually be recognised from a greater distance by the light-coloured sand blocks and the size. There is no compass direction in which they spawn more often, which can make the search much longer depending on your location.
