Farming Simulator 22 Crossplay: How it works

Farming Simulator 2022 supports cross-platform play for all platforms on which the game is available. There are only a few restrictions on mods and the maximum number of players.

All you need to know about Farming Simulator 22 cross-platform play

Cultivating fields, breeding animals and cutting down trees is even more fun with friends. Fortunately, playing together is quite straightforward because Farming Simulator 22 supports cross-play.

• The Farming Simulator 22 is available for PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can also play on Google Stadia.

• The game supports cross-play between all platforms. This means you can play together on the same server across platforms.

• To play on a server, either one of the players has to host a dedicated server or you rent a server from a third-party provider.

• If you host a server yourself on your PC, the server has a maximum of 16 players. If you host on Xbox or PlayStation, the server has a maximum of 6 slots.

• Please also note that there are special rules for mods. All players must have the server mods installed – this means restrictions for console gamers. Google Stadia players cannot join a server on which mods are activated.

• However, there is no cross-progression or cross-save. So you can’t start a game on your PC and seamlessly continue it on your PlayStation later. But you can find and transfer savegames between PCs as usual to load a savegame.

This is how you play Farming Simulator 22 across platforms

If you want to jump into the multiplayer of Farming Simulator 22 and start a server yourself, proceed as follows:

• Start the game and select “Multiplayer” in the main menu.

• Click on “Create game”. Here you can now select a new slot or load a saved game.

• Follow the instructions. Make sure that you set “Allow cross-play: On”.

• Set a server name and password. Your friends will need this to join.

• Finally, click “Start”. It will take a few seconds before the server appears in the list and your friends can join.

• In the options, select which player is the server’s admin. He or she alone can assign rights to other players, create courtyards and more.
