The new level mechanic in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree uses a resource that is only available in Shadowland: Scadu Tree Fragments.
- Scadu Tree Fragments are essential to survive in the Shadowlands. These give you the blessing of the scadu tree, which comprises a total of 20 levels
- Each level increases your resistance and defense, allowing you to take more damage. At the same time, you deal harder with each level. Scade tree fragments are therefore the only way to become stronger in the DLC besides your equipment
- You increase the blessing of the Scadubaum at every Place of Grace in the Shadowlands. A new option is available for this. However, the fragments do not work in the Intermediate Land.
- You only need one scadu tree fragment for the first level. Up to the ninth level, you need two fragments for each level and from the tenth level onwards, you always need three fragments. You will therefore need a total of 50 scadu tree fragments to reach the maximum level
- Attention: This level mechanic is completely optional. If you want to make the DLC even more difficult, either do not use scadu tree fragments or only use them a little.
Scadubaum fragments obtained: How to level up in Shadow of the Erdtree
The scadu tree fragments are scattered all over Shadowland. You can find 50 in total.
- You will receive Scade Tree Fragments from numerous enemies and bosses. These drop the resource after defeating them
- Other than that, you just have to keep your eyes open. Chests, churches, crossroads and dungeons are among the locations where you can find the fragments.
- Note: If you do not find all the fragments in one run, you do not need to worry. You will not lose the current blessing level in New Game Plus and can therefore collect enough in the next playthrough.
