You need Holy Tears in Elden Ring to upgrade your bottles of Purple and Sky Tears. You can find 12 of these in the Intermediate Land
Sacred Tears in Elden Ring: From Limgrave to Liurnia
If you want to improve your bottles of Sky and Purple Tears in Elden Ring, you will need the twelve Holy Tears. These can only be found in certain churches spread across the Intermediate Land.
- You can find the first tear in Limgrave at the Third Church of Marika. From the starting point of the adventure, simply follow the road to the northeast until you reach a crossroads in the northern Misty Forest. There you will find the church and the chalice with the tear is waiting for you right in front of the statue.
- Another one is waiting for you in Caelid at the Church of the Plague. First travel to the wizard city of Sellia to light the beacons there. You will then find the church southeast of the city
- Now it’s off to the Peninsula of Tears. Follow the road to the south and to the west at the crossroads you will see the Anabaptist Church of Callu on a large promontory. There is another Holy Tear there
- If you travel west from Callu Baptist Church to the coast of the peninsula, you will find another hill. There you will find the Fourth Church of Marika, whose tear is also waiting for you in front of the statue.
- The last Tear site in this area is in the far north of the Low Earth Tree. This is the Pilgrim Church. After that you have to go to Liurnia.
- In Liurnia, you first visit the church of Irith. You can’t really miss it, as it is located to the west of the north exit of Storm Veil Castle.
- Follow this to the church of Bellum. You can reach it by making your way north of the Raya Lucaria Academy to the Dectus elevator. The church is located next to the small wood
- Not far from the Bellum Church you will find the Church of Inhibition with the next Holy Tear. To do this, turn right from the Dectus elevator and follow the hill on which the church stands.
Elden Ring: Remaining locations of the Holy Tears
Once you have collected the first eight Tears and left Liurnia, here are the last four locations to find the upgrade material in Elden Ring:
- Once you have reached the Altus Plateau, you can find the Second Church of Marika. To do this, follow the road from the elevator to the north and up the hill
- Follow this to the Church of the Stormcallers, which is located on the cliffs north of the Leyndell Wall. You can already see the church from below the cliff, but you will have to find another way up. For example, you can travel there from the Low Earth Tree in the region
- The last two Tears can be found at the Giants’ Mountain Peak. You will find the First Church of Marika directly to the south of the frozen lake.
- You then travel on to the south of the area. From the Place of Grace Foot of the Forge, head southwest until you find the Church of Rest. There you will find the last Sacred Tear
- Note: You can also collect the tears in the New Game Plus of Elden Ring. However, you cannot use them if you have already upgraded your bottles to the maximum value of +12.
