In Elden Ring you can optionally face the final boss Malenia. With a few tricks, you can win the stubborn fight
Elden Ring: How to defeat Malenia
Malenia is definitely one of the bosses in Elden Ring that is far more difficult to defeat. You should be well skilled before you start the fight.
- You can dodge Malenia’s regular attacks to the rear. For stab attacks, however, you should dodge to the side
- Things get more difficult when Malenia performs her sword whirl combo. It consists of a total of three waves, during which she rises into the air and whirls with her swords. The only thing you can do with the first wave is to run away. In the second wave, you should roll towards her and in the last wave, roll backwards once and then forwards again.
- If Malenia performs her combo, you should not attack her. You only risk unnecessary damage.
- You will achieve the most effective attack if you attack Malenia as soon as she jumps to the left. Even if you are good at parrying, this can help you in battle
- After a short cutscene, the second phase of the fight begins. Block Malenia’s first attack and flee from her range, otherwise the scarlet rot will do too much damage to you.
- Malenia’s special attack causes phantoms to rain down on you. You should also dodge here. It is best to dodge backwards for the first two phantoms, forwards for the next two and to the left for the last two
- Get Ghost Ash for the second phase to ward off the aggro. This gives you additional windows to attack.
- Use your talent. Depending on the console, you may need to press L2 or LT. On the keyboard, the talent attack can be accessed regularly with SHIFT+right-click. This gives you the chance to deal damage to Malenia efficiently. Especially when Malenia performs her counter kick in the second phase, you can inflict considerable damage with your talent
