Monkeys in Dreamlight Valley are shy creatures found in the new Eternity Isle region. Feeding them requires a strategic approach.
Feeding monkeys in Dreamlight Valley – the approach
Before you can feed a monkey in Dreamlight Valley, you have to approach it – and that’s not always easy. Monkeys in this game react in a special way and require patience and the right approach.
- Hide and Seek: When you first spot a monkey in Eternity Isle, it will run away. This is normal. You will need to chase the monkey three to four times before it sits down and is ready to be fed.
- Don’t rush it: Avoid making sudden movements and approach the monkey calmly. Rushing can prolong the process of getting close to the monkey as they are sensitive to their surroundings.
- Two feedings for success: To win an ape as a companion, you must feed it with its favorite food at least twice. But be careful: you can only feed each ape once a day. So it takes at least two to three days to build a friendship.
The key to feeding your monkeys – their favorite foods
The monkeys in Dreamlight Valley have exquisite tastes. Their love of fine cuisine is reflected in their favorite dishes.
- 5-star dishes: Monkeys have a particular fondness for elaborate dishes. They prefer 5-star recipes, with the “Banana Split” being an excellent choice.
- Banana Split recipe: To make a Banana Split, you need slush ice, a banana, milk, sugar cane and cocoa beans. While you can find bananas and sugar cane on Dazzle Beach, you can harvest cocoa beans in the Sunlit Plateau and buy the other ingredients at Chez Remy.
- Flexible feeding: It is possible to feed monkeys with 3- or 4-star dishes. However, to get the most out of the interaction, you should always choose a 5-star dish. Feeding high-quality food increases your chances of receiving rewards such as special items or new motifs.
