The cinematic game Death Stranding sends you on a variety of missions as a post-apocalyptic deliveryman to slowly but surely reconnect the world. How long you need on average for this and how much game time you invest in total, you can find out here.
Death Stranding – this is how much game time you have to invest for the main story
How long it will take you to complete the main story of Death Stranding depends not only on your skill as a gamer, but also on which version of the game you are playing:
- With the release of the Death Stranding Director’s Cut on the PS5, there are now two vastly different versions of the game.
- If you play Death Stranding in the basic version, it will take you an average of 40.5 hours to see the final credits.
- The Director’s Cut shortens the playing time of the main story by a few hours. Here you invest a good 33 hours if you only concentrate on the main story. The reasons for the shorter playing time are probably mainly due to the newly added vehicles and delivery methods. But the greatly reduced loading times due to the PS5 also play a role here.
Death Stranding – total package play time
If you want to savour various side missions and other side-activities in addition to the main story, the playing time of the overall package will increase by quite a bit:
- Death Stranding sends you on a variety of delivery missions as protagonist Sam Porter Bridges. Through side missions you unlock, among other things, new equipment that can make the game easier.
- If you want to complete all the side missions in addition to the story, the playtime of the basic version is 59 hours.
- Interestingly, the Director’s Cut is similar. Although the story here only takes 33 hours to complete, newly added content such as a racing mode and new missions that take place in the Ruined Factory push the game length to 58.5 hours.
- If you really want to exhaust everything the game has to offer and explore every nook and cranny of the game world, it will take you an average of 112 hours in the base version and 100 hours in the Director’s Cut.
