“Bloodborne 2,” the long-awaited sequel to FromSoftware’s dark action role-playing game, continues to generate great excitement among fans. This is mainly due to the immense success of the first part and the growing community that is eagerly awaiting a sequel. Despite the speculation, however, there is currently no official confirmation that Bloodborne 2 is actively in development.
- Release date: As of this writing (as of August 2024), there has been no official announcement regarding the release date of Bloodborne 2. According to reports, the game’s development could be at a very early stage, if it is in the planning stages at all.
- FromSoftware is currently focusing on other projects, including the upcoming Elden Ring DLC and Armored Core 6, but fans could potentially expect an announcement in the next few years if Sony puts pressure on development.
- Platforms: Assuming Bloodborne 2 becomes a reality, it is likely that the game will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5 like its predecessor. A release on other platforms, such as the PC, would be conceivable, but there are no concrete indications of this yet. Other exclusive titles, such as God of War: Ragnarök, took around 1.5 years to also appear on the PC.

According to rumors, the game could take place in a new, possibly Eastern-inspired setting, but this remains to be seen.
- Story and lore: The deep and complex narrative of the original is likely to be continued. Here, too, it remains to be seen how the story will continue, as no official details are yet known.
- Gameplay: Fans can assume that the fast and precise combat system that made Bloodborne so popular would return in a possible sequel. New weapons, abilities and mechanics could be added, but again, no details are known yet.
- If you look at From Software’s previous games, you’ll notice that some gameplay features have “migrated” from one game to the next. We could therefore imagine that Bloodborne 2 has quite a few parallels to Elden Ring. Whether this will be reflected in an open world or, for example, in a new “crafting” aspect is of course still up in the air.
- Multiplayer mode: It is conceivable that Bloodborne 2 will once again offer a cooperative and competitive multiplayer mode. Improvements in network stability and matchmaking could further optimize the online experience
- Graphics and sound: With the power of the latest consoles, Bloodborne 2 can create an even more realistic and terrifying world. High-resolution textures, dynamic lighting and atmospheric sound effects add to the immersion and enhance the dark mood of the game.
- Expansions and updates: As with other FromSoftware games, regular updates and expansions could follow after release to keep the game exciting and fresh for a longer period of time.
