Tips and tricks for Black Myth: Wukong will help you get started with Game Sciene’s action RPG more easily
Black Myth: Wukong: General tips and tricks
Start Black Myth: Wukong, the numerous mechanics and the game world can be overwhelming. The following tips and tricks can make your first steps as Sun Wukong easier:
- If you are playing as the Monkey King from the Chinese novel and can no longer find your way, look out for the glowing lights. As in Elden Ring, these will lead you to the next part of the story, as well as treasures and new areas.
- Visit shrines as often as possible to replenish your health points and mana. You can also buy items, craft, improve pumpkins, brew potions and purchase your newly unlocked armor sets at the shrines. You can also use the fast travel function via shrines.
- Shrines also allow you to distribute and reset your skill points. This is important if you are not satisfied with your current skillset. You don’t even need an item to do this and can do it as often as you like.
- Black Myth: Wukong is not a Souls-like game. So you don’t have to worry about losing your items and resources after dying. You will only be reset and have to repeat the respective section again
- Visit the 24 meditation locations in the game. For each of these spots, you will receive a free spark that you need to improve your skills.
- Tip: Use the photo mode in the game from time to time. This allows you to look around the world and find hidden areas and paths that may even offer special rewards.
Tips and tricks for the battle
Black Myth: Wukong puts all your skills to the test in battles. The following tips will help you to survive against the numerous bosses and opponents:
- In classic Dark Souls style, you should keep calm in battle, dodge and parry attacks. Get an overview of the attack patterns in battle and act accordingly to avoid
- Familiarize yourself with the various staff stances in the game and level them up as quickly as possible. The punching stance is fast and aggressive, while the thrusting stance makes it easier to counterattack and improves your defense options. To dodge area and ground attacks and attack from above, use the pillar stance instead.
- It can help to focus on a staff stance if you prefer a certain play style. This allows you to invest skill points exclusively in one stance and maximize its effectiveness.
- Use your spells and abilities as early as possible in battle, as Black Myth: Wukong has quite long cooldown times. Since boss battles in particular can last quite a long time, using them earlier gives you the opportunity to use your skills and spells more often
- Don’t skimp on your mana. It’s always better to survive without mana than to be knocked out because you didn’t use it. Spells and spirit summons are powerful tools that you should not underestimate
