by Pramith

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Manager allows you to download new mods directly from the community and check already installed mods

Baldur’s Gate In-Game Mod Manager: Requirements for use

With patch 7, Larian Studios has added an in-game mod manager to Baldur’s Gate 3. This allows you to install and activate mods for the RPG directly from the main menu.

  • Note: The Mod Manager is not yet available for the console versions of Baldur’s Gate 3. This is expected to be added in October and will allow players to use mods on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
  • To use the Mod Manager, you must first download and install Patch 7. Only then will you see the new Mod Manager button in the game’s main menu.
  • You will also need an account with Larian Studios, Steam, GOG, PlayStation Network or Xbox. This will then give you access to the mod range.
  • You may be automatically registered for mod support via the distribution platform when you start Baldur’s Gate 3 after installing the patch. Alternatively, you can use the account to subscribe to mods via the Larian mod page in a browser of your choice
  • To use the Mod Manager, start the game. Then click on the aforementioned button in the main menu.

Baldur’s Gate: Functions of the in-game mod manager

The mod manager in Baldur’s Gate 3 is intuitive to use. The following functions are available to you:

  • After starting the Mod Manager, you will already see a large number of modifications that you can subscribe to by clicking on Subscribe. These are then downloaded and added to your mod list
  • Alternatively, first open the mod description and click on the button there. In the description you can like mods, get more information about possible problems and an overview of the features.
  • You can access your installed mods in the upper area of the Mod Manager. You can activate and deactivate mods in the list. Even mods from other platforms such as Nexus Mods are displayed and you can activate or deactivate them as required.
  • It is also possible to uninstall the modification via the mod description. All it takes is one click. Furthermore, the current memory space used by the mods is displayed in the upper area
  • After activating the modifications, you can simply start the game. Please note that some mods are not compatible with existing savegames and require a completely new run.
