In the third act of Baldur’s Gate 3, you have to enter the House of Mourning for a series of quests. However, you also have to get out again
How to find the House of Mourning in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Shadowheart quest ends in the House of Mourning. If you still have Shadowheart available, this is a good opportunity to make Shadowheart part of your active party.
- You will find the House of Mourning in the west in a dead end. Baldur’s Gate is to the right of it. You can enter via a staircase
- First you have to choose whether you want to pay the required amount to enter or whether you want to deceive the guard. Either way will get you into the House of Mourning.
- Then the perception check is relevant. It should be successful for at least one person, otherwise you cannot enter.
This is what awaits you in the House of Mourning
On arrival at the House of Mourning, a few decisions await you that you should consider carefully. You can decide whether to complete the quest.
- Walk along the main path to get to the hall. Viconia DeVri is already waiting for you here. If you have Shadowheart with you, there are a number of ways to defeat this boss. Otherwise, all you can do is overpower Viconia and her followers.
- The sleeping chamber borders the east side of the hall. Here you will find Nightshade, who can sell you items. Viconia’s chest can also be found here
- From the hall you reach the entrance to the Chamber of Loss. You have several ways to enter: Either by weighing down the altar bowl with gems, using the knock spell to open the gate or with a 30 dice roll.
- You will find Shadowheart’s parents inside. If Shadowheart is not (or no longer) part of your party, the quest line is over. If you still have Shadowheart in your party, you can start a conversation. Either Shadowheart or you can decide the parents’ fate.
