If you find the Confused Frog in Baldur’s Gate 3, a conversation with the hopping swamp dweller can help. But be careful! There’s something to be aware of
Baldur’s Gate 3: Don’t annoy the Confused Frog
The Confused Frog is not a magical animal in Baldur’s Gate 3. Nevertheless, it is not so easy to interact with it and you can escalate the situation quickly.
- To talk to the frog, you need the Speak with Animals spell. If you do not have a character who can cast this spell, you can also use a scroll to do so
- As soon as you speak to the frog, it appears confused and absent-minded. The actual problem behind this is not recognizable at this point in time
- You have to be careful here: if you speak to the frog too often, it will attack you. And the amphibian is not to be trifled with
- It is a level 3 frog with an armor class of 22 and a high dexterity value of 20, so it can be dangerous to an unprepared group.
- If you defeat the frog, you will not receive any loot and you will not find out what it is all about. He is not responsible for his own behavior, but a certain swamp witch
Baldur’s Gate 3: Confused Frog and Auntie Ethel
To prevent the Confused Frog from attacking you in Baldur’s Gate 3, you have to get to the root of the problem.
- The frog has been cursed by Auntie Ethel and suffers from constant pain. This makes him confused and he will attack you if you get on his nerves too often
- To help the frog, you must either kill or banish Auntie Ethel. Preferably kill the old witch to lift the curse completely. If you meet the frog after the events surrounding the witch, it will no longer be confused.
- If Auntie Ethel is no longer in the swamp, talk to the frog again. Once you have killed the witch, he will be happy to see you and visibly more relaxed and happy.
- When Ethel is driven away, the curse is still on the frog. Nevertheless, he notices that the witch has left the swamp and is grateful to you for it.
- He will then lead you to a small treasure as a token of his gratitude. There you will find gold and two scrolls.
- Tip: If you successfully pass a perception check near the frog, you can find the treasure without the swamp dweller’s help.
