In Assassin’s Creed 3, you can go hunting. With a few tips, your hunting experience will be a success.
Tip 1: Hunting areas in Assassin’s Creed
The environment in Assassin’s Creed is divided into hunting grounds outside the country’s borders. You can see these areas in the hunting area (found in the map menu). Four different animal species lurk in each region. Initially, these are still marked with a question mark in the hunting menu, but they become visible when you have found clues or killed the animal. Below is an overview of the hunting regions:
- Black Creek: Lynx, Elk, Rabbit, Beaver
- Concord: Raccoon, Rabbit, Deer, Beaver
- Davenport Settlement: elk, deer, fox, beaver, cougar, raccoon, wolf, hare
- Diamond Basin: deer, wolf, cougar, beaver
- Great Piece Hills: Lynx, Rabbit, Wolf, Elk
- John’s Town: Bear, Fox, Elk, Rabbit
- Kanièn:keh: fox, deer, hare, cougar
- Lexington: hare, raccoon, deer, fox
- Monmouth: hare, raccoon, wapiti, fox
- Packanack: bear, lynx, hare, beaver
- Scotch Plains: Puma, raccoon, deer, rabbit
- Troy’s Wood: Wolf, deer, wapiti, rabbit
- Valley Forge: Rabbit, Raccoon, Beaver, Elk
Tip 2: Hunting and Killing
When you go hunting in an area, you should first look for tracks. Your Assassin’s Eagle Sense makes it easier to detect tracks. Once you have analyzed the tracks, you will see the animal on the mini-map and can quickly locate it. You have several options for killing the animal:
- You can stalk the animal. This is especially worthwhile near bushes, where you can approach the animal step by step without it noticing you.
- If you like the element of surprise, pounce on the animal suddenly and abruptly. If you jump from a tree directly onto the animal, for example, you also have a good chance of catching the animal.
- If you would rather lure the animal towards you, you can use bait. However, keep a safe distance from the bait to lure the animal safely in your direction.
- With a bow, you can also attack your target from a long distance in Assassin’s Creed. You don’t even have to hide, just let your aiming skills do the work for you.
