Printing your own photos can save you high photo development costs. We show you which materials you absolutely need for top quality

Printing your own photos: How to get top quality

  • The most important thing is a suitable photo printer. These offer a wider colour gamut than normal printers with only three colour inks
  • We recommend an inkjet printer or ink multifunction devices with additional photo inks for this purpose.
  • You will also need high quality photo paper. You should use photo paper with a basis weight of 170 grams.
    • You can optimally adjust the colour and brightness distribution in the various image editing programmes. A good presetting has a positive effect on the image.
When printing black and white photos, we recommend that you use the colour mode and not the greyscale mode.

      • The optimal resolution is very important: This is the case if you have taken your photos with at least a 6-megapixel camera. Unfortunately, you can’t improve this afterwards.
