How to eat passion fruit is not clear to everyone. Yet the small, purple fruit with the sweet and sour taste can be eaten quite easily. All you need is a knife, a spoon and lots of appetite.
How to eat passion fruit: Similar to a kiwi – with a spoon
Passion fruits are small, purple-coloured fruits that are rich in vitamins and nutrients. Among other things, the exotic fruit contains a lot of vitamin C, various B vitamins, potassium and iron.
- The flesh and seeds of the passion fruit, which looks similar to a passion fruit, can be eaten, while the skin is not edible.
- Before eating, the skin of the fruit should be rinsed thoroughly under running water. Then cut the passion fruit in half. You can then simply spoon out the flesh – similar to a kiwi.
- Passion fruit tastes delicious in a fruit salad. The jelly-like pulp can also be stirred into yoghurt or muesli. Jellies or jams as well as juices and cocktails made from or with passion fruit are also refreshing.
- You can recognise a ripe passion fruit by the fact that it feels heavy in your hand. If, on the other hand, the fruit is light, this is a sign that the flesh has already dried out.
- When buying a passion fruit, you should look for a dark colouring of the skin. A shrivelled skin without bruises is not bad. It is just a sign that the peel has been dehydrated and the fruit should be eaten quickly.
